Refrigerator & Freezer Recycling

Do you have an old, inefficient refrigerator or freezer that you are looking to replace or get rid of all together?

An old refrigerator uses approximately 30% more energy than a new ENERGY STAR® certified refrigerator. Replacing your old refrigerator with a new one that has earned the ENERGY STAR certification could save you about $230 over the 12-year lifetime of the product.

Additionally by keeping a second refrigerator in your basement or garage, you could be wasting $90 per year.

Your choice to recycle instead of using other disposal options will help curtail growing peak load demand, prevent the release of greenhouse gases, and ensure that over 90% of the unit is being properly recycled by Resilient Buildings Group (RBG)*, our contracted vendor.

  • Have your electric account number ready for verification, and contact RBG to schedule a no-cost pickup by phone at 833-864-1607 or email at recycling@rbgnh.com
  • At home pick-ups for Room AC and Dehumidifier recycling is also available with a $30 per unit rebate (only in addition to your at home pick-up for a refrigerator or freezer recycling).
  • Receive your rebate in the mail up to 6-8 weeks after pick-up

If you are looking to recycle only a Room AC or Dehumidifier but do not have a refrigerator or freezer to recycle as well see our Turn-In Events hosted across the State where you can drop off your units to be recycled instead.

*RBG works with different subcontractors for at home pickups and recycling. The subcontractor responsible for your pickup will be confirmed at the time of scheduling.
