SCAM ALERT!

We’re getting reports from Derry/Londonderry of Co-op members being approached in their homes by people asking for electric account numbers, social security numbers and other personal information. They may be representing that they work for NHEC or another utility.  NHEC employees do not ask to see your electric bill or for personal information when visiting members’ homes. All NHEC employees carry company identification and drive vehicles that are clearly marked with the NHEC logo. If you have any question about the identity of an NHEC employee, or someone claiming to represent NHEC, please call 1-800-698-2007 at any time. Do not provide any information to anyone who appears at your door with solicitations. If possible get a description of the vehicle and individuals soliciting the information and call your local police.

Colebrook Mobile Food Pantry Feb. 25

COLEBROOK, NH – New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) and the New Hampshire Food Bank will partner to distribute food to New Hampshire residents in need in the greater Colebrook area via a mobile food pantry on Saturday, February 25th at noon at the Colebrook Elementary School.

For the sixth year in a row, the NHEC Foundation has provided a $5,000 grant to fund the Colebrook mobile food pantry.  Volunteers from both sponsoring organizations will be on site to help unload and distribute the food to those in need at the school, which is located at 27 Dumont Street in Colebrook.

The mobile food pantry plans to provide approximately 15,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of about 12,500 meals, to New Hampshire residents in Colebrook and surrounding towns on February 25th. NH Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities NH, is the only food bank in the state and is the main source of food for dozens of food pantries across the state.

Feb. 15 Deadline Set for Board Candidate Nominations

PLYMOUTH – Members of the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Co-op) interested in being considered for nomination to the Board of Directors should submit their material to the Nominating Committee by 4:30 p.m. on February 15, 2017.  More information about the Director election process is available here.

“The Co-op seeks highly qualified members with diverse personal, professional and geographical backgrounds, as well as broad education and experience,” says Steve Camerino, President/CEO at the Co-op.  “As a member-owned, non-profit organization, serving on the Board of Directors is one of the ways members have a direct impact on how this democratically controlled organization is run.  It is an important and rewarding job.”

Board members are elected to three-year terms.  Three of the 11 seats are up for election this year.  Election ballots will be sent to all members in May, with members also having the opportunity to vote electronically.  Those elected will be seated at the Annual Meeting of Members, Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

The Nominating Committee meets numerous times to review the applications and interview candidates for the Board of Directors.  After completing the process, they nominate a slate of candidates to be included on the ballot.  The candidates selected will be identified on the ballot as having been nominated by the Nominating Committee.

If you are interested in applying, contact Sharon Yeaton at 603-536-8801 or yeatons@nhec.com for a candidate packet.
