NHEC Foundation
Your Co-op,
Your Community™
Supported Entirely by Voluntary Donations
As a nonprofit organization, the NHEC Foundation provides grants to local nonprofits throughout NHEC’s service territory. We support charitable organizations that promote health, education, hunger relief, arts, and community well-being. The NHEC foundation is supported entirely by voluntary donations from NHEC members. The NHEC Foundation has awarded nearly $6 million to support charities, organizations and programs throughout the communities we serve.

How to Support the NHEC Foundation

NHEC Foundation Grants
The New Hampshire Electric Co-op (NHEC) Foundation has resumed accepting grant applications while it continues to conduct a strategic review of the foundation and its giving priorities. Until further notice, our giving priorities will remain the same as they have been.
Grant applications are open until February 28, 2025, with decisions expected in March 2025. An updated schedule for deadlines and decisions will be published then.
How we support our communities
Round-Up
Every month, Round Up allows you to “round up” your electric bill to the nearest dollar. This small change makes a BIG difference! Your donations directly support the New Hampshire Electric Co-op Foundation (NHEC Foundation), a nonprofit that funds community programs and charities throughout our service area.
Project Care
Project Care is a tax-exempt charitable organization that provides financial assistance to NHEC members who are struggling to pay their electric bills. Since our founding, we’ve helped thousands of members stay connected to the power they need.
NHEC Foundation Scholarships
These six annual scholarships of $1,500 each are awarded to members or their children pursuing any accredited undergraduate program. One scholarship is specifically reserved for students entering a vocational or technical institution.
Lineworker Scholarships
New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) offers one $2,500 scholarship annually to members or children of members who are pursuing a career as an electrical lineworker.
